Mobile operators in India believe that the time of low tariff has gone and they are implenting the same for some time.
First round of tariff hike saw voice call rate is priced to 1.5paisa/second from 1.2paisa/second, and Idea Cellular just starts second round of tariff hike.
In the recent tariff guide for Tamilnadu circle, Idea Cellular is to charge 2paisa/second (Rs 1.20/minute) for all local voice calls, while STD call rate will be 2.5p/sec (Rs 1.5/minute), the video calls to any local or STD numbers will be charged for 2paisa/second. We believe this tariff revision is coming soon to all circles by Idea.
As we have seen that the GSM trio (Airtel, Vodafone and Idea) change the tariff as soon as any of them does some change in tariff, new tariffs are to be copied by these telecom operators.
