Expanding its wearable line today, Samsung launched its next-gen smart wearables – the Gear Fit 2 Pro and the Gear Sport in India. The Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro is priced at Rs 13,590, whereas the Gear Sport will set you back Rs 22,990.

Unveiled earlier at IFA Berlin event, both the wearables will go on sale starting December 11 in India. Pre-bookings will kick a week before on December 4. The Gear Fit2 Pro will be available via Flipkart while the Gear Sport will go on sale via Amazon India. Both devices will also be available via Samsung’s own e-store.
Both the new wearables come with improved water resistance capabilities. The Gear Fit2 Pro and Gear Sport come with 5 ATM certification meaning they provide water resistance up to a depth of approximately 50m of water in specific conditions. They also pack in sensors to detect your physical activity like walking, running, cycling or dancing.

The Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro sports a 1.5-inch curved Super AMOLED display with a resolution with 216 x 432 pixels and 310 PPI. Under the hood, is a 1GHz dual-core chipset paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB internal storage. The device houses a 200mAh battery and has Wifi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and GLONASS as connectivity options.
The Gear Fit2 Pro runs Tizen OS and is compatible with smartphones powered by Android Jellybean 4.3 and iPhones running iOS 9 and above. Tizen gives you access to over 3000 apps via the Galaxy App Store. The device is capable of automatically detecting and recording your fitness activities and as well tracks your heart rate and sleeping activity.
The Gear Fit2 Pro also gets the Speedo app, which can record your swimming stats. Other than that it now sports a secure watch clasp than a flimsy snap clasp of its predecessor.
