Last year, Samsung launched its flagship offering for 2017, the Samsung Galaxy S8. The phone was at the top of its line-up until this year when Samsung launched the Galaxy S9. The Samsung Galaxy S9 forwarded the Samsung line-up this year, and it came with variable aperture cameras, thus making the Galaxy S8 a little obsolete. To recall, the Galaxy S8 had debuted with a price tag of Rs 57,900 in its initial days. Now, Flipkart and Samsung have joined hands to offer the Samsung Galaxy S8 with a whopping discount of Rs 27,910, which brings down the value of the smartphone to Rs 29,990.

Samsung Galaxy S8 at Rs 29,990: Should You Buy it or Not?

When the Galaxy S8 launched in 2017, it was one of the most premium offerings of its time. The phone comes with a very impressive glass and metal design, and a curved screen which is unique to it. In India, the phone comes powered by the Exynos 8895 processor paired with 64GB fast storage and 4GB RAM. Even after a year, the Samsung Galaxy S8 sports a camera which is one of the most excellent ones in the market. The 12MP shooter on the Samsung Galaxy S8 despite being a year old shooter will be worth the price as the images shot on Samsung Galaxy S8 will be comparable to the most high-end posts. Keeping that in mind, right now the Samsung Galaxy S8 makes up for one of the best offerings in this price range under the rate of Rs 30,000.

Other Alternatives to the Galaxy S8

If you are a Samsung fan and you want a phone which comes with Samsung’s pretty well known UI, then the Galaxy S8 makes up for a perfect buy under the Rs 30,000 price range with these highly powered specifications, excellent camera and the very impressive screen. However, we should also clarify that since the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 in 2017, there have been many more developments in the market and phones like OnePlus 6 have also taken the market by storm by offering very impressive camera and specifications for around the same price. Around the same time frame, starting October 10th, the OnePlus 6 will be retailing for Rs 27,000 at a discounted rate. The Poco F1 by Xiaomi also comes as one worthy offering under the Rs 30,000 price tag as it comes with the top end Snapdragon 845.

Another area where the Samsung S8 lags behind is the Android 9 Pie. Where the OnePlus 6 comes with the latest Android 9 Pie, the Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with Android 8.1 Oreo only.

As per our reviews, right now the Samsung Galaxy S8 stands at the second spot right behind the OnePlus 6.
