Ever since the news spread that phones have started shipping with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, Samsung users have been waiting impatiently for their Oreo updates. Samsung put the wait to end on Thursday by announcing that it was finally rolling out Android Oreo updates for some of its recently launched phones. The first of the many phones will be the Samsung flagship The Galaxy Note 8. The entire series of the phones which will see the Oreo update in coming days includes Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A3 (2017).

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 launched last year and has been the premium phone of Samsung. Therefore, it is reasonable that Samsung release update for the Note 8 first. The Oreo update for the Note 8 is scheduled to come earlier than the rest, which would be by the end of this month. The 30th of March 2018 is the marked date by Samsung for pushing the update which will allow the Note 8 users to update their devices from Nougat to Oreo. The next devices to receive the update will be the Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge.

Since there has been some significant time that these devices have been running on Nougat out of the box. The Korean smartphone manufacturer will not delay the update for Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge by too much, it will closely follow the update of Note 8 by almost two weeks. Samsung has scheduled the update on 13th April for these two devices.

Next in line to receive the updates will be Galaxy A7, A5 and A3 (2017), all of them were launched in 2017, last year and shipped with Nougat out of the box. The Oreo updates for these devices will follow the S7 update will stretch late into May 2018. The exact date given by Samsung is May 25, 2018.

Sources tell us that these dates have been notified for Turkey, but it is expectable that Indian users will see Oreo updates on a timeline very near to the given schedule presented above. Samsung, however, is yet to make a statement which would outline dates specifically for Indian users.

Samsung rolled out updates for their latest models Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ earlier last month, but soon paused the launch of updates for the other phones after getting complaints of random reboots on Samsung devices who updated to Oreo on their phones. Samsung clearly wanted to resolve the issue for their users, and it seems they have done the job are all set to launch the updates for further devices.
