Not all features of Blackberry work with normal GPRS plans of the operators. It requires Expensive Blackberry plan to be activated. Best cheaper alternative to Blackberry is INQ chat3g mobile. It is supposed to work with normal GPRS topups, no special plans required like Blackberry
