Reliance JioFiber Services That are Exclusive to Higher End Plans

Reliance JioFiber will be offering services like First Day First Show movies, VR headsets and more, but these will be available only to subscribers of higher-end plans

By September 22nd, 2019 AT 5:45 AM
  • The 1 Gbps speeds will also be available to Titanium or Platinum plan users
  • Reliance Jio will offer VR headsets and Jio Holoboard to the subscribers of these plans

Reliance Jio launched its fibre-based broadband service in India finally after a long wait on September 5. However, according to many people who were awaiting the launch of JioFiber, the plans did not meet the expectations. This was mainly because of the lack of freebies and benefits which JioFiber is offering at the given price range. Now the entry-level plans of JioFiber start with Rs 699 per month, and they offer 100 Mbps and 100GB data along with minimum freebies. Most of the major benefits of JioFiber plans come with the higher-priced plans. So, if you are deciding whether or not to invest a little more for your monthly fibre-based broadband connections, then these are the exclusive benefits you should make a note of. If you decide to go for a higher-priced JioFiber plan, then these are the benefits you will get to enjoy.

Gigabyte Speeds

The first and the obvious difference between the entry-level broadband plans by Reliance Jio is the gigabyte speed which the higher end plans come with. While for most subscribers, the gigabyte speeds might not be that much useful, for someone who is looking to equip their home with IoT devices, the gigabyte connection is definitely considerable. The gigabyte connection will allow the subscribers to hook all their devices at their home to the Wi-Fi network simultaneously. The gigabyte connection will also be fit for the subscribers who want to play online games and want to stream them simultaneously.

First Day Movie Shows

Another feature that stands out from the rest that Reliance Jio is offering as part of its JioFiber higher-end plans is the First-day First-Show Movies. As part of this, the subscribers will be able to catch the newly released movies on the first day itself right from the comfort of their homes. However, just like the other features listed here, the first-day movie shows will be something that would be accessible to the higher-end plan users. These plans would include the Diamond, Platinum and Titanium plans that are available for Rs 2,499, Rs 3,999 and Rs 8,499, per month respectively.

VR Headsets

There is no doubt that Reliance Jio has set its vision towards the future, and that became apparent when it talked about bringing a virtual reality headset as part of its JioFiber offering. Now, the catch with this is that the VR headset would not be available for all the plans of JioFiber. The VR headset and the Jio Holoboard would again be available for the subscribers of Diamond, Platinum and Titanium plans only.

Now that you have noted the services that you will avail, if you were to pay a little more for the higher end plans of Reliance Jio, you can make an informed choice about whether or not these will make a difference for you.

Noone can get Giga”Byte” speeds yet. That would be 8Gbps which isn’t possible in India as most residential households top out at a gigabit max. In 2035 maybe residents in India will get that speed.

I installed spectra gigafiber. The maximum speed that I see was around 676Mbps to 750Mbps. Not beyond that.

Nobody will get real 5G in India before 2025.

OT: Is there any phone under 18k that supports 3CA on Jio network? What about newly launched Samsung Galaxy M30s?

No no phones support 600Mbps modem. Asus zenfone 5(with sd636) did support it but it wasn’t sold in India. Zenfone 5 too didn’t have all the required 4g bands.

Does samsung m30s support 3CA on Jio?

Don’t compare international variant with Indian variant(One Plus 6T was flying on T-Mobile which sucks on all operators here in India). Asus Zenfone 5Z didn’t support 3CA. It was 2CA only(40+40),(3+40),(3+41). Now Asus Rog 2 phone support ridiculously high CA. But it’s remains to be seen what Indian variant brings to the table. Tencent variant didn’t have full support of bands of India and didn’t even have Jio VoLTE. Airtel 4G works but voice dropped to 2G.
