As promised, Reliance Jio has made the new tariff plans live for its 160 million subscribers across the country. While Jio announced details of eight plans a few days ago, there are some plans which it didn’t mention such as the Rs 509 and Rs 799 tariff plans. So, Jio’s tariff plans now start at a mere Rs 19 and go all the way up to Rs 9,999. The entry-level Rs 19 plan gives benefits for one day, while the Rs 9,999 plan offers benefits for 365 days. Let’s take a close look at Reliance Jio tariff plans.

Sachet Packs

Jio’s entry-level plans are called as Sachet plans. Under this product, Jio has three plans of Rs 19, Rs 52, and Rs 98. The Rs 19 is valid for one day, the Rs 52 is valid for seven days, and the Rs 98 plan is valid for 14 days. All the three plans offer 0.15MB data per day, subscription to Jio apps, and unlimited voice calls. The Rs 19 plan gives 20 SMS, the Rs 52 plan offers 70 SMS, and lastly, the Rs 94 plan offers 140 SMS for the validity period.

1GB/Day Packs

Last week, Jio announced a few new plans of Rs 149, Rs 349, Rs 399, and Rs 449. All these plans offer 1GB data per day, 100 SMS per day, Jio apps subscription, and unlimited voice calls for the entire validity period. The base Rs 149 plan is valid for 28 days, the Rs 349 plan is valid for 70 days, the Rs 399 plan is valid for 84 days, and the Rs 449 tariff plan gives benefits for 91 days.

1.5GB/Day Packs

And the new plans introduced by Jio are Rs 198, Rs 398, Rs 448, and Rs 498. These plans also offer the same unlimited voice calls, Jio apps subscription, 100 SMS per day, and 1.5GB data per day for the validity period. The Rs 198 tariff plan gives benefits for 28 days, the Rs 398 plan for 70 days, Rs 448 plans for 84 days, and the Rs 498 plan is valid for 91 days from the date of recharge.

2GB/Day Packs

The Mukesh Ambani-led telco recently introduced a Rs 299 tariff plan of Rs 299 that offers 2GB data per day for 28 days. This essentially offers 56GB at just Rs 299. And it also gives unlimited voice calls without any FUP, 100 SMS per day, and a free subscription to Jio apps.

3GB/Day Packs

Reliance Jio’s popular Rs 509 tariff plan now offers insane 3GB data per day, which takes the total offering to 84GB. But the validity of the plan is decreased to 28 days from the previous 49 days.

5GB/Data Packs

Another change Jio introduced today is to the Rs 799 tariff plan as it now offers 5GB data per day, which is up from the earlier 3GB data per day offering. The benefits are valid for 28 days from the date of recharge.

Long-Term Packs

Under the Long Term Packs, Jio again has four plans of Rs 999, Rs 1,999, Rs 4,999, and Rs 9,999. The Rs 999 plan gives 60GB 4G data for 90 days, the Rs 1,999 pack offers 125GB data for 180 days, the Rs 4,999 plan provides 350GB data for 360 days, and the Rs 9,999 pack gives 750GB data for 365 days.

All the Jio tariff plans give an after FUP speed of 64 Kbps, meaning the data is unlimited. And all the plans offer unlimited voice calls without any FUP and subscription to Jio apps for the validity period. As stated, the new plans are already official, meaning you can now recharge with the new plans.

Kaushik, this is in reply to your question @Kiran, just that you stated about the network I want to share something. Just question your inner conscience and answer yourself after reading. Experience: BSNL tried for tower space in a specific Government land and being a Govt operator they couldn’t even able to get it. The same way with Airtel, they tried for 7 years and after a lot of follow-ups and rejected approvals they gave up. But within no time the so-called disruptive operator got approval and planted a tower in the same area which BSNL requested for. What do… Read more »

It’s got to do with rentals. Jio has a blanket arrangement for setting up towers and was earlier throwing very good money to achieve the Prime tenancy spots. Jio first covered only Railway lines, national highways and major district roads in phase one. I was getting Jio signal since early 2015 because all site on Mumbai Ahmedabad Railway line went live late in 2014. They were improving arterial coverage till a few months ago, only now have they started taking network away from arterial roads. For the record Jio is still not available on the cell site in backward areas… Read more »

I remember back in 2015 that Jio used to give signal on my 4g device. It had 3 and 40 support. I didn’t know that Jio will be going with band 5 and thought they’ll go for band 20. I dunno what you mean by Arterial coverage. Is it coverage along the tracks and roads?

Hi Kiran, thanks for the input. But I do not remember asking you this question. I am aware there is at least one other user with same name as me, so I hope he will reply here.

In my locality the reverse is true, only Airtel has the approval to set up a tower and not BSNL or Jio.

It’s better to write name and surname to avoid confusion about same user names.
