Reliance Jio, the major disruptor in the Indian telecom sector has stunned everyone yet again with their new offerings. Mukesh Ambani, the company chief chairman, today at an event announced his happiness towards Jio’s 50 million achievement and stated that the ‘Welcome Offer’ will now be extended till March 2017, but has a different name this time around- ‘Jio Happy New Year Offer’.
Take a look at what Mukesh Ambani announced today.
Jio Happy New Year Offer
The important announcement in today’ speech is the ‘Jio Happy New Year Offer’, which will replace the current ‘Jio Welcome Offer’. And, all the existing users will be entitled to the Jio New Year Offer on December 4, and the new users of Jio will be automatically enrolled into the New Year Offer.
Data Cap is Now Restricted to 1GB per Day
Under the Jio New Year Offer, Jio has limited the data cap to 1GB per day from the previous 4GB data limit per day. This the most noticeable change in the new offer. After a user crosses 1GB of data limit, he will only receive 128 Kbps speeds.

Another interesting thing is that, if the user wants to enjoy high-speed data even after crossing his 1GB daily limit, then he can do that by recharging with a new plan. However, he did not reveal the tariff rates.
Same as ‘Welcome Offer.'
Apart from the data cap, the ‘Jio New Year Offer’ offers everything similar to the earlier introduced JWO. All the existing and new users joining after December 3 can enjoy Jio’s apps, free HD voice calls, SMS until March 31, 2017.
