Reliance Jio, a prominent Indian telecom operator, has enhanced network capacity in Wayanad, Kerala. The telco has enhanced the network capacity to manage the surge in traffic due to ongoing relief efforts. Jio received a request from the state disaster management authorities for doing this. The telecom operator has also installed a second-dedicated tower to provide network support in the area. For the unaware, landslides have struck Wayanad and it has caused more than 250 deaths so far. On top of that, over 200 people have been reported missing.

This increase in network capacity will ensure that citizens as well as the authorities can have seamless communication. Jio has not announced any data, calling, or service validity benefits for customers like Bharti Airtel did. Airtel, on Wednesday, announced that it will be offering customers unlimited voice calling, 100 SMS/day, and 1GB of daily data for 3 days at no cost. For postpaid mobile users, the telco said that it will extend the mobile bill payment date by 30 days.
