Reliance Jio Tops 4G Download Speed Chart in December 2018: Trai

Reliance Jio does it again as it tops the 4G download speed chart for the month of December 2018. Jio has changed the telecom space massively ever since it entered the market two years ago. But from then to now the download speed of Jio has dropped drastically, but that in any way hasn’t snatched the topmost position from Jio. According to MySpeed portal of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), Jio tops the 4G download speed for December despite the drop in speed. According to the report, Jio has topped the list with an average download speed of 18.7 Mbps in December. Interestingly, the number is almost double of Airtel’s 4G download speed. Airtel takes the second place in the list, right after Reliance Jio. To recollect, Jio has experienced a massive drop in 4G download speed since October 2018. Well, even though the speed has reduced in reality, on papers Jio is still the topmost telecom operator with the fastest 4G download speed in India.

Trai app itself inflated speed. Although it shows the operator that provides highest speed Actual speeds received is not even 1% of real speed experienced.

First someone has to surf something then download… In kolkata jio give worst surfing speed through the rail road specially in Sealdah Naihati section… Unable to stream some video in youtube at 144p… Comparingto airtel 4g, it gives much more stability than jio. Si, i’m thinking to switch over again…

Dude, strangely opposite with me… if you use carrier aggregation handsets, this whole Sealdah line from Kalyani to Sdh is well covered with CA infact in Halisahar also, there another user from Kpa here on TT even he complains of poor coverage…all I suggest is to use any CA enabled handset and you will certainly notice huge difference

Biswasdeep : I have tried Jio with Moto One Power/Moto G5s Plus and One Plus 5T/Samsung GALAXY S8 as well in Mumbai. There isn’t much spike in speeds.

Yes in trains network will fluctuate, because of fast changing of towers, isn’t that normal? but still you will get decent speed for YouTube.. I guess in Airtel you are getting stability and speed because most people especially in Bengal are highly price sensitive and are using Jio for data so it’s overcrowded
