Reliance Jio

Reliance Jio is currently the number one telecom operator in India. The telco has come at the top because of offering the most benefits for the least price. Jio and Airtel both have different ways of managing their business and looking at their customers. Jio is more of everyone’s company, while Airtel leans towards only ‘premium’ customers. Bharti Airtel has an ecosystem of products that has helped it survive the challenges that arrived when Jio came to the market.

There are homes in India where everything, including a Direct-to-Home (DTH) connection, mobile connection, and broadband connection, is of Airtel. To ease the pain of customers paying multiple bills for different services from the same company, Bharti Airtel launched its ‘One Airtel’ plans followed by ‘Airtel Black’. Both are bundled service offerings from the company. If Reliance Jio were to do this, it would change the game.

Reliance Jio Broadband Arm JioFiber Already Offers STB With Broadband

Reliance Jio already offers a free Set-Top Box (STB) with the JioFiber connections to users all over India. The telco only needs to offer new plans where it would bundle a postpaid/prepaid connection with the JioFiber plans. It would change the game for the telco.

There are many homes that are already consuming mobile services from Reliance Jio and have a JioFiber connection with an STB as well. To bundle all of this together and offer it for a little less price would help Jio retain old customers but also add new ones in the near to medium future.

One of the biggest advantages of offering a bundled service is that users start getting used to the ecosystem of products/services that a company is building. Reliance Jio can add more things to its bundle, such as applications and over-the-top (OTT) benefits which will make things more interesting for the users.

All in all, a bundled service from Reliance Jio like that of Bharti Airtel would be refreshing to see. Jio can also offer users to make custom plans like Airtel is doing with Airtel Black. There are multiple things that can be done once a user is locked into the ecosystem. Further, the company can announce priority customer care support for people who are purchasing bundled services from the company.

Note that there’s no official word or even a hint from the company that it is doing this.
