The latest tariff hike in the telecom sector has definitely sent jolts through the industry for the subscribers, with the configurations and the prices of the plans changing rapidly in the matter of a few days. The subscribers who were paying less for their data and calling will now have to pay up to 40% more in some cases. During such changes, the prepaid plans that are the most affected are the ones in the lower rungs. The effect is more prominent for these plans also because these are often the most popular plans as well because of their affordability. In the list of telecom operators who have hiked their prices, is also the Mukesh Ambani led telecom operator, Reliance Jio, which boasts of having more than 355 million subscribers. In the last few days, Reliance Jio had taken the Rs 149 and the Rs 98 prepaid plan off the shelves, thus shocking a lot of subscribers and rendering them with other choices. However, in a new turn now, the telecom operator has brought back these Rs 149 and Rs 98 recharge plan for its subscribers.

Reliance Jio Rs 149 Prepaid Plan Benefits

If you were to visit the website of Reliance Jio a while back and look at the prepaid plans available, then you would find that the prepaid plans offered a minimum of 1.5GB data per month. However, with the return of the Rs 149 prepaid plan and the Rs 98 prepaid plan, the subscribers can also now subscribe to even lower amount of data per day, which is 1GB. Under the Rs 149 prepaid plan, the subscribers will enjoy 1GB data per day and 100 SMS per day benefit. The validity of this plan would be a little short at 24 days, and also the subscribers would get free unlimited Jio to Jio calls along with 300 minutes of FUP calling to other networks. The subscribers also get access to Reliance Jio apps under this prepaid plan.

Reliance Jio Rs 98 Prepaid Plan Benefits

Another one of the affordable plans which would be available for the subscribers now is the Rs 98 prepaid plan which was previously not available. The Rs 98 prepaid plan is a little different from the usual Reliance Jio prepaid plan which we get to see. Instead of daily data, this plan is much oriented towards subscribers who use calling. The plan offers 2GB data for the entire validity period of 28 days. Along with this, subscribers get 300 SMS for this time period. As for calling benefits, the customers buying this plan get unlimited free Jio to Jio calls but for off-net calls they will have to get the IUC talk time plans from Reliance Jio which start at Rs 10.

Reliance Jio Tariff Hike and All-in-One Plans

It is worth noting that in the latest move, Reliance Jio has also hiked the tariffs of its prepaid plans which were previously some of the most affordable data plans in the industry. Also, not to mention, the telecom operator is now capping calling to other operators as well. The telco which was once providing free unlimited voice calls to all the subscribers under all its plan has now dampened the benefits which it once used to offer to the customers. Instead of giving free unlimited calls, the subscribers now have to pay 6 paise per minute for every call which they make from Reliance Jio to other networks. The subscribers also have the option of buying the new all-in-one prepaid plans which offer bundled voice calling as well to other operators along with data, SMS and additional benefits.
