Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro to Launch With Helio G90T Chipset in India, Confirms MediaTek MD

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro was recently announced in China with MediaTek’s latest gaming chipset- Helio G90T. However, there were some eyebrows raised on why Xiaomi chose a MediaTek chipset for one of the much-awaited phones, considering the success of Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 6 Pro. Before the launch of Redmi Note 8 Pro, it was said that Xiaomi might launch another variant of the phone with Snapdragon 712 SoC, but that did not happen eventually. Now, Xiaomi fans in India are expecting the company to launch a Snapdragon variant of the Note 8 Pro. Well, it seems like that’s not going to happen and the Redmi Note 8 Pro in India will also come with MediaTek Helio G90T chipset. This news is officially confirmed by MediaTek India MD Anku Jain and he expects the smartphone will change the perception towards the chipmaker in the country.

Redmi Note 8 Pro With Helio G90T Chipset Coming to India

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is the world’s first smartphone to feature the MediaTek Helio G90T chipset. And very soon, it will reach the Indian market as well. “In China, Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with MediaTek G90T SoC and the smartphone is selling very well. We expect the same in India,” Anku Jain said to India Today Tech. MediaTek chipsets are often being criticised for the performance they offer, but that has changed over the last couple of years, special thanks to Realme and Oppo for making use of MediaTek Helio P series.
