Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Teased Online Could Feature 64MP Camera Sensor and Fast Charging

Redmi's next big debut is going to be the Redmi Note 8, and we are starting to hear chatter about it from the company itself

  • Xiaomi GM Lu Weibing mentioned about the Redmi Note 8 online
  • The phone is likely to debut with Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor

Xiaomi has been making some very prominent releases under its sub-brand Redmi this year. Now that we are done with the 7th generation series of Redmi phones, it is high time that we finally get to hear about the 8th generation of Redmi devices. A lot of fans of the brand have been asking questions online about the presence of the Redmi Note 8, but till now there was no word from the company about this device. However, that seems to have taken a turn as Xiaomi’s General Manager Lu Weibing has confirmed the presence of Redmi Note 8.  The response which Weibing has put up online can be translated to “Redmi Note 8 is much stronger than the next door…” and it seems that the line implies that the launch of the Redmi Note 8 can be considered as just around the corner.

Xiaomi General Manager Teases Redmi Note 8

Now although the executive has mentioned about the launch of this device, he has not given away any of the details related to the Redmi Note 8. However, there is the speculation that Redmi might debut this new phone with a 64MP camera sensor which has been in the talks since a few weeks now. It is worth noting that the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor with 64MP configuration has already been teased by the company and we know that a device is in works which would sport the 64MP CMOS sensor. Since the Redmi Note 8 is going to be a big debut from the company, it is quite possible that the brand might ship the Redmi Note 8 with this sensor only.

Redmi Note 8 Might Come with Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 Sensor

Like you would expect, the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor is targeted for delivering exquisite details. The sensor will package pixel-merging Tetracell technology and a remosaic algorithm, and it will render 16MP images in low-light environments, with pixel binning technology to increase light. This sensor from Samsung will also support real-time HDR of up to 100-decibels, which would lead to more detailed colours.

Xiaomi Also Teases Launch of New Gaming Phone

It is also likely that Xiaomi might debut this phone with its fast charging technology. With all this being said, it is also crucial to note that since the brand has not put out any official word about this device yet, it is better to take the speculations with a pinch of salt. Also, the Redmi Note 8 is not the only device that Xiaomi has teased in the past few days. While the Redmi Note 8 was teased by Lu Weibing, Xiaomi Global VP and India head, Manu Kumar Jain has also talked about a new gaming phone from Redmi which would sport the Helio G90T SoC. The announcement was made in a MediaTek event on stage when Jain described the increasing prominence of the mobile gaming community in India.

This megapixel non sense should really stop. A better sensor is all we need.

Yeah that Pixel binding Technology only increases size of image 4 times.. no image quality inhancement except when you zoom in.
(12*4=48, 16*4=64)

Sensor doesn’t make sense at all these days(Google Pixel lineup). GCam does. People at Vivo should understand this. Vivo already making good noises with Vivo Z1 Pro and Realme X is already so good. Can’t wait to see Realme 5 Pro.

Before any software.. hardware comes into play!! So its better to get the base strong and then try to make a building with the help of good building material.
Hope you understand this!
Building material -any software!

Google Pixel 3A have very old sensor. Still it produces better images than One Plus 7 Pro(IMX 586). Same goes with LG G8 and iPhone XS Max has old sensor. Still they have great video recording capabilities.

Snapdragon 730 at 16000 else I don’t care.

The 730 is still really costly. Expect 730 phones to start at 20k+ till March next year.

I don’t think so. I will say it again, the price of Redmi K20 series is too god damn high. It should have been 20000 for base variant(25000-26000 for K20 Pro)(Again I am saying phones are exceptionally good). Though phone is exceptional, price wise it’s lost the game. Its already in open sale. Have you seen that ever in Redmi phone? Snapdragon 855 is quiet old now. Prices have dropped. Prices are lower than when S10+ was launched. That’s why One Plus releases their phones around mid year. That’s why I said One Plus 7 Pro is priced literally high.… Read more »

I don’t think so. I still think Redmi K20 series is overpriced in my opinion. Chipsets are costly when it was released. When LG G8 and S10+ launched that time it was costly. That’s why One Plus is able to keep their prices lower than these flagships. I said previously also One Plus 7 Pro is very very costly phone and it’s no value for money. Snapdragon 855 is cheaper now. S10+ prices have reduced to 500-700 dollars. Nobody is buying One Plus. Same is with K20 series. Its in open sale already. Have you heard that ever in so… Read more »
