When it comes to the budget segment smartphones, the name of the brand, Xiaomi comes to the tip of the tongue instantly and righteously so, Xiaomi has made its name synonymous with this price range owing to the features which it ships in the smartphones in and around the Rs 10,000 price range. However, with this being said the only company dominating the Rs 10,000 and less price range in the market successfully is Xiaomi and this time around Xiaomi has done it again with the launch of the Redmi Note 8. When it comes to buying a smartphone under the Rs 10,000 price range, there is a lot of competition out there from Realme, and other brands but it seems that the Redmi Note 8 has struck a chord with the buyers and there are some solid reasons why that is the case. Here we take a look at reasons why a buyer would get their hands on the Redmi Note 8 and also some reasons as to why some might give it a pass. But, let us give you a small hint that the odds are definitely in favour of Xiaomi.

What Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Does Well

When it comes to specifications, the Redmi Note 8 sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+display with 90% screen-to-body ratio. There is also a dewdrop notch and the Gorilla Glass protection. But, we would like to draw your attention to the Full-HD+ part of the display, which is one of the highlights of the Redmi Note 8. Being a budget segment phone, the Full-HD+ display on the Redmi Note 8 becomes one of the edges of the phone. To have a clear picture, it would be worth noting that a lot of smartphones out there, beyond this price tag still come with a display which is not as pixel-dense as the Redmi Note 8.

Another feature to which the buyers will be attracted to in the case of Redmi Note 8 is the storage and RAM configuration. The Redmi Note 8 comes with a base variant which has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There was a time when Xiaomi’s base variants used to come with 3GB or 2GB of RAM, and it wasn’t a long ago. However, with Redmi Note 8, the company has set a new standard for future devices and pleased the users.

The quad-camera on the Redmi Note 8 makes up for another attraction for the buyers as it also comes with a 48MP sensor paired with wide-angle camera sensors, depth sensors and a macro lens. Another attraction for the buyers when it comes to Redmi Note 8 would be the 4,000mA battery under the hood, and the 18W fast charger which accompanies the device inside the box is something that the other competitive offerings fail to offer.

Areas in Which Redmi Note 8 Falls Back

Although there is no ‘major’ drawback with the Redmi Note 8, there are some things that the users of Redmi Note 8 might have noticed by now, and the top one that comes to my mind is the camera bump on the rear side. When placing the Redmi Note 8 on a flat surface, the camera bump definitely becomes very noticeable.

Another area where the Redmi Note 8 could have made a leap, and we would have liked it, is the design. When placed beside the Redmi Note 7, the Redmi Note 8 seems to bear a very uncanny resemblance, and this is where the users could have used a refresh. There is also the quality of the selfie camera to consider, which could have been a tad bit better as per my time with the device, and lastly, there are the ever-present MIUI ads on the device which you might find to be a little annoying. But even with all of this, the Redmi Note 8 stands as the best phone out there right now to buy under the Rs 10,000 price range.
