Realme XT is now getting a new OTA update that brings two new features to the smartphone. Touted as October 2019 update, it brings the much-awaited wide-angle video recording functionality to the smartphone. This feature puts the device against the Redmi Note 8 Pro which supports wide-angle video recording out of the box. The October update for all the Realme smartphones added Dark Mode and the same is the case with Realme XT. For the unaware, Realme XT is the first smartphone in India to offer 64MP quad-camera setup, followed by the Samsung Galaxy A70s and the Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones. The Realme XT is also one of the best mid-range smartphones to purchase around the Rs 17,000 price point. The October OTA update is already rolling out to the Realme XT users in India.

Realme XT Finally Gets Dark Mode Feature

Realme officially confirmed the October 2019 update would be based on ColorOS 6.0.1 version. The update rollout began on October 26, 2019, and it will gradually reach every Realme XT user in the country over the next few weeks. The company has added two new features and optimised the camera software to deliver better performance. Firstly, let's talk about the features added by Realme; Similar to other Realme smartphones which received October 2019 update, the Realme XT also gets Dark Mode which several users have been asking for. Unlike other phones, the Realme XT sports an AMOLED screen, so the Dark Mode will look even better on this smartphone.

The second feature added by Realme is a wide-angle video recording. Launched in September 2019, the Realme XT did not feature video recording functionality for the 8MP wide-angle lens. However, it's changing after the October 2019 update as users will now be able to record videos using the 8MP wide-angle sensor as well. Notably, the Realme XT features quad-camera setup- 64MP Samsung GW1 shooter, 8MP ultra wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor.

Besides these two features, the company has improved camera quality while taking zoomed-in shots. The update also brings optimisations to camera quality in low-light environments, white balance enhancement and camera noise in some scenes.

Realme also improved compass accuracy. The update also brings a couple of existing bug fixes: flash colour abnormality in a few scenes and the white balance instability in some scenarios.

As mentioned above, Realme has already started the OTA update rollout to the Realme XT and it will reach every user in the next few weeks.
