Raxio Group has opened its fifth data center, Raxio Cote d'Ivoire (CIV1), in Abidjan, marking its entry into West Africa. The company says CIV1 is the country's first Tier III-certified, carrier-neutral, and cloud-neutral facility, capable of housing 800 racks and delivering 3 MW of IT power. The data center will serve the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), supporting the growing demand for digital services across the region.

CIV1 Overview
Located in the Village of Innovation and Technology (VITIB), 30 km from Abidjan, CIV1 offers 24 by 7 service with multiple power and fiber connections. It also hosts the country's Internet Exchange Point (CIVIX), optimising local and international traffic. According to the company, this facility is its third launch in 2024.
"The inauguration of our Abidjan data center establishes us firmly in West Africa, a key growth sector for our continued expansion," said the CEO of Raxio Group. "Abidjan is the ideal location for organisations and businesses from across the economic region to colocate their mission-critical infrastructure in a highly reliable and secure facility."
Sustainability
Raxio has emphasised sustainability in the design of CIV1, incorporating renewable energy and efficient technologies to reduce environmental impact, according to the official release.
