A new affordable 5G phone from POCO is about to launch in India. The sub-brand of Xiaomi, POCO has confirmed the launch date of POCO M8 5G. The device is confirmed to feature a 50MP AI camera system, with a 7.35mm thick build. The phone is likely going to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC coupled with a 5,520mAh batery. The phone’s poster was posted by the brand and also a press release was issued sharing details. Here’s what you have to know.

POCO M8 5G India Launch Date

POCO M8 5G will launch in India on January 8, 2026. The launch event for the device will take place at 12 PM IST (India Standard Time). It will go on sale via Flipkart in the country. The phone appears to have a dual-tone rear panel with a matte and a vegan leather finish.

The POCO M8 5G has a center aligned squircle-shared camera module, with two camera sensors at the back and an LED flash.

The POCO M8 5G is currently being said to be a rebadged Redmi Note 15 5G. It is worth noting that the Redmi Note 15 5G series will launch in India on January 6, 2026. If this is true, then the phone could feature a 108MP primary sensor at the back.
