Poco F1 is Xiaomi’s sub-brands first phone and there’s no doubt that with this phone the company created a lot of buzz in the market. The credit goes to the inclusion of the Snapdragon 845 chipset in a mid-range smartphone. The Poco F1 is currently the cheapest Snapdragon 845 powered phone in the market. Xiaomi has always been very committed to offering a smooth user experience, and the company aiming for the same with the Poco F1 too. The smartphone has been very recently upgraded to the MIUI 10 software from the MIUI 9.6 and now, the company is rolling out Android 9 Pie beta to the Poco F1 users.

Poco India has already confirmed that the Poco F1 will be upgraded to the next two Android versions. This means that the phone will get Android 9 Pie sweetness and also the next version which will probably be called Android Q. The beta update of Android 9 Pie has already started rolling out to the Poco F1 now.

Poco F1 Receives Official Android Pie Beta via MIUI 10 8.11.15

Xiaomi has finally released an open beta build of MIUI 10 based on Android Pie for the Poco F1. The update comes in the form of the MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM 8.11.15 build to the users. With the coming of this update, the Poco F1 will get all Android 9 Pie features including the new navigation gestures, adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, improved security features, Digital wellbeing, among other things.

The Poco F1 was launched with Android Oreo-based on MIUI 9.6. But at the launch event, the company promised to upgrade the phone to the latest MIUI 10. Living up to the promise, Poco F1 users have received the MIUI 10 features. The MIUI 10 brings a range of new features to the Poco F1, including the MIUI Calendar, new navigation gestures, Picture-in-picture, Autofill support, security improvements, improved screen recording and more.

Meanwhile, Poco India has confirmed to bring the Android 9 Pie to the Indian users as well. The company has revealed that the Poco F1 users in India will get the Pie update around December. “Android P open beta will be released in December. We are running the final test now,” the company noted in its MIUI Forum.

Very recently, Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10 build was leaked from the closed beta programme, but that build was unstable as we installed it on our Poco F1. But now, the Global Beta version is out, but sadly, one can install it only via Fastboot method, which will be a cumbersome process. Having said that, Xiaomi might release a Recovery ROM of the new MIUI 10 8.11.15 in the next couple of days.

Other Issues Poco Is Working On

Poco India, in its weekly report, confirmed that the company has been working to resolve a lot of issues that the Poco F1 users have been complaining about. The company has revealed that the “touch lag and wrong touch issue”, “OK Google doesn’t work in some situations”, “allow fullscreen mode with hidden notch issue”, among other problems are being worked upon and will be resolved very soon.
