Panasonic has unveiled another smartphone in its Eluga series, named as Eluga Switch. The main feature of the phone is its ability to be usable even when held upside down. The device is set to go on sale for a price of Rs. 19,990.
The Eluga Switch comes with dual front-firing speakers paired with two microphones, which allows users to use it even when they’re holding it upside down. To cater to the upside down functionality of the device, Panasonic has packed in reversible UI with Android 5.0 Lollipop. The reversible UI allows the phone to adjust the interface automatically according to the position of the phone. Although it is a helpful feature, it is not unique as Alcatel had already launched OneTouch Idol 3 featuring reversible UI.
Coming on to the specifications, the Panasonic Eluga Switch comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, along with Asahi Dragon Trail Glass protection with Oleophobic Coating. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core chipset paired with 2GB of RAM. The Eluga Switch sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and 32GB of internal storage. In terms of connectivity, the device supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and USB OTG. There is a 2,910 mAh battery on-board, and it will be available in Gun Metal Grey color.
