Oppo released the R11s in November last year, and the Chinese phone maker is already working on its next-generation flagship. The company teased on microblogging site Weibo its next flagship devices will be called Oppo R15 and Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition. The teaser image from Oppo shows a smartphone with Apple iPhone X-like top notch design. The overall design too follows iPhone X as the device sports a bezel-less display with rounded corners. The notch will apparently house the front camera and other sensors.

Oppo is known for copying Apple design language in the past, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise. Apart from the official teaser, a couple of renders of the Oppo R15 have leaked online. While once again confirming iPhone X design at front complete with top-notch, these renders also reveal the rear panel design.

Unlike Apple, the Oppo R15 features a horizontally arranged dual camera configuration at the back. The fingerprint sensor can also be seen in the back which is placed in the middle of the rear panel.

The antenna bands are placed on the top and bottom edges of the device as per the reports. The volume rocker keys are placed on the left side while the power button comes on the right side. The leak also gives us a glimpse of the three colours the R15 might be launched in - Black, Pink, and Purple.

Apart from design, the Oppo R15 is also expected to emulate iPhone X’s FaceID with their own facial recognition. The Chinese phone maker is apparently trying to implement 3D sensing technology in their devices to bring facial recognition and animated emoji features.

The internal features of the upcoming flagship phone are so far unclear. There are speculations that the Oppo R15 will supposedly run Snapdragon 670 under the hood. The mid-range chipset is rumoured to be manufactured using Samsung’s 10nm LPP process technology. It would also bring improvements in the imaging department, and a previous leak suggested a prototype with SD 670 SoC had a 22.6MP +13MP dual rear camera. However, Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 700 Mobile Platform at the Mobile World Congress show recently.

Also, the R15 is expected to sport a 5.8-inch FHD+ OLED display with a screen aspect ratio of 19.5:9 as per rumours. The device might also feature Oppo’s VOOC charging technology. However, nothing is set in stone at this point, but since the release of a teaser, Oppo is expected to announce the smartphone soon officially.
