Oppo Electronics today announced its flagship smartphone, the Oppo F7 in the Indian market. Like always, the Oppo F7 will be available across both online and offline channels starting April 9. The phone will be available in three colour options- Diamond Black, Moonlight Silver & Solar Red. The Diamond Black variant is priced at Rs 26,990 and will be available only across Oppo stores in the country, whereas the other two colour options will be made available at a price of Rs 21,990. The open sale of the smartphone will start from April 9, and Oppo is holding a flash sale on April 2 at 777 retail stores. Customers purchasing the device during the flash sale on April 2 will receive 5% cashback on ICICI cards, a one-time screen replacement and 120GB free 4G data from Reliance Jio.

Diving into the specifications, the Oppo F7 sports a 6.23-inch Full HD+ display with a notch on top and 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone features a glass back and a metal frame, giving it a unique look. Internally, the phone is powered by an octa-core processor (could be the MediaTek Helio P60), coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM. The Diamond Black variant is likely to feature 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage, but the other two variants is said to come with 64GB of storage.

The highlight of the Oppo F5, of course, is the 25MP front-facing camera. Oppo has added various software and AI features such as AI Beauty Mode 2.0, and the camera app comes preloaded with a lot of filters and modes. The Chinese company also added an HDR mode to the front camera, which will help in capturing more accurate images. To the rear, there’s a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a dual-LED flash. The Oppo F7 also comes with AR Stickers feature.

The phone is backed by a 3400mAh battery and runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.0. It’s good to see both Oppo and Vivo launching phones with latest Android iteration on board. As usual, the Oppo F7 also comes with a Face Unlock feature. Also, there’s a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, unchanged from the Oppo F5.

The Oppo F7 seems to be a great smartphone on paper- a Full HD+ display, powerful processor, all-new selfie camera, gorgeous design and all of them is backed by a good sized battery. The Oppo F7 is a direct competitor the Vivo V9 which was launched last month in India at a price of Rs 22,990.
