Oppo F5 With 18:9 Display Will Be Exclusively Available on Flipkart

With the launch of the Oppo F5 just around the corner, the phone has been teased by Flipkart today, confirming that the F5 will be Flipkart exclusive. The company has already sent out media invites for a curtain-raiser event scheduled to take place in Mumbai on November 2. Oppo India has been constantly dishing out tiny tidbits of features one at a time in the past few days via its official Twitter handle with the hashtag #CaptureTheRealYou.

Adding to this, the famous e-commerce website is running a teaser ahead of the launch, hinting at the availability of the phone on its platform. The Oppo F5 was recently launched in the Philippines and was placed at a price of 15,990 Philippine Peso, which rounds up to approximately Rs. 19,985. The device was launched in two storage variants – a 4G of RAM and 32GB of internal storage model, as well as a 6GB RAM one with 64GB of internal storage.

Going by the phone’s caption, the Oppo F5’s main highlight is its front-facing 20MP camera with ½.8 inch sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The selfie camera also comes with an AI technology that promises ‘clear, beautiful selfies’ and can be used to unlock the phone via the facial recognition feature. According to the company, the front camera offers bokeh effect and can scan up to 200 facial recognition spots to beautify a selfie shot to perfection. The handset also packs a 16MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash.

As for the rest of its specifications, the Oppo F5 features a 6-inch display with a Full-HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Additionally, the smartphone comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top for dust and scratch resistance.

Internally, the device runs on a 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 16n processor alongside an 800MHz ARM Mali G71 MP2 GPU. The Oppo F5 ships with Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with the company’s own ColorUI skin on top. The handset offers a feature called the O-share – a wireless transfer technology that promises 100 times faster transfers compared to Bluetooth. The F5 is powered by a 3,200mAh battery.
