OnePlus 6 has been the prodigy smartphone by the Chinese manufacturer OnePlus which has made it the number one premium phone company in India right now. The phone has succeeded in the Indian market thanks to its affordable pricing, constant innovation and the high-end specs. Now reports have come up which point towards the direction of OnePlus 6 receiving a new Android 9 Pie update via an OxygenOS Beta package.

Android Pie OxygenOS Beta Update to Be Released Next Week

It is worth noting that OnePlus released the Android Pie based update for the Chinese counterpart of the OxygenOS, HydrogenOS last week only. If OnePlus is to follow the trend, then it can be said that the Android Pie based OxygenOS Beta update will be pushed to the users this week only. The OnePlus 6 will be the obvious first choice for this update, and then on, the update is expected to follow to other devices like OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 3T, and the OnePlus 3.

OnePlus 6 Specifications

OnePlus 6 is the first smartphone by the brand to feature a notch design, and it also became the most successful device by the company till date. The device features an AMOLED display measuring 6.28-inches diagonally with 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 colour space coverage, and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. In terms of performance, the phone fares amazingly well owing to the top-notch octa-core 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 AIE processor clocked at 2.8 GHz paired with Adreno 630 GPU for graphics. The phone retails in a total of three configurations - 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. Staying true to the tradition, OnePlus 6 doesn’t come with an option to expand memory using a microSD card.

The camera and imaging department is also one of the strong points of the OnePlus 6 as it features a 16MP + 20MP dual rear camera setup at the rear with the primary sensor being Sony IMX519 with 1.22um pixel size and the secondary sensor being Sony IMX376K with 1.0um pixel size. Both the cameras come with a large f/1.7 aperture allowing it to shoot decent shots in low light. The video quality on this device can go as high as up to 4K Ultra HD resolution with a 60 fps frame rate, and Super Slow Motion videos in HD resolution at up to 480 fps.

The front camera on the device is a16MP Sony IMX371 sensor with a Portrait Mode, EIS, HDR, and Screen Flash features. The Face Unlock feature on the OnePlus 6 remains one of the fastest ones in the market right now. On the rear, there is also a fingerprint sensor as well.

Connectivity features on the OnePlus 6 include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, NFC, USB Type-C port, and dual 4G VoLTE. The battery on this device is a 3,300mAh one which comes equipped with OnePlus’ proprietary Dash charging capability. The phone has also been touted to be water resistant, it comes with Dirac HD Sound, and Dirac Power Sound and it runs Android Oreo 8.1 in terms of software.

OnePlus 6 Pricing

Like we mentioned above, the OnePlus 6 comes in three variants in India and the price of the entry-level variant is Rs 34,999 with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Next up, the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is available with a price tag of Rs 39,999, while the topmost 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is available for Rs 43,999. ICICI credit holders who make EMI transaction on Amazon.in will be eligible for a 10% discount on this device whereas there will be a 5% instant discount when the phone is purchased via an HDFC Bank debit card EMI plan. There is also a no Cost EMI option on Amazon via all major credit cards and also through Bajaj Finserv.
