OnePlus 7 Updated to OxygenOS 9.5.8 With August Android Security Patch and Other Quirks

The penultimate flagship device from OnePlus in the market right now, that is the OnePlus 7 is likely the most popular device from the Chinese manufacturer after the OnePlus 7 Pro. Given this fact, the Chinese brand is relentlessly pushing new updates and features to this device. As we are knocking our way into August, OnePlus 7 users have also started receiving the new update which brings the August 2019 Android Security Patch onboard the phone. The exciting thing about this update is that OnePlus 7 users are receiving this update even before Google Pixel users, which are usually the first devices to receive the updates for Android. The new version of OxygenOS, which is the OxygenOS 9.5.8 brings more features on the device like optimised adaptive brightness, new bug fixes, performance improvements and more. Like it is the case with almost all OxygenOS updates, this one is also going to be a phased rollout.

 




OxygenOS 9.5.8 Update Changelog and Details

If you are a OnePlus 7 user and you have not yet received the notification of the update, worry not, because like the other updates from OnePlus this OxygenOS version are also being rolled out in stages. Initially, a small subset of OnePlus 7 users will be receiving the update, and then it will be followed by a broader rollout. In case you are one of the people who would not like to wait for then, you can go to update settings and check for the OxgenOS 9.5.8 update manually. If you decide to go ahead with the installation of the update, then it is recommended that you do so over a stable and fast Wi-Fi connection and while your phone is appropriately charged. It is also worth noting that the rollout of the August 2019 Android Security Patch in such a rapid manner is actually OnePlus’ way of showing that it is living up to the promise of fast iterations of updates.

As for the changelog of the new OxygenOS 9.5.8 update, the phone comes with optimised adaptive brightness and updates Google Mobile Services to June 2019. The previous issue on the device, which led to dropping down of the quick settings menu because of accidental touches while on call has also been fixed by the company. And, among other major things is the August 2019 Android Security Patch which OnePlus 7 has actually received before Google Pixel devices. The flagship device from OnePlus received the OxygenOS 9.5.11 update on the first day of August itself which brought August Android Security Patch and other improvements on the device.
