400G IOWN Network Solution
The IOWN Network Solution (400G) combines the IOWN-related technologies of NTT and those of IP Infusion, a software company based in the United States, to enable high-speed, high-capacity, and low-power consumption communication.
Benefits for Service Providers
The companies stated that service providers such as data center operators and telecommunication carriers can use the solution to build simpler and lower-cost inter-data center networks based on 400G ZR/ZR+ for high-speed and long-distance transmission.
This will contribute to a 50 percent reduction in the construction and operation costs of network equipment, a 40 percent reduction in power consumption, and a decrease in rack space.
Technical Specifications and Components
The IOWN Network Solution (400G) provides a switch/router capable of long-distance transmission at 400 Gbps. Its software and hardware are disaggregated, consisting of a network OS (software), white box switches/routers (hardware), and 400G ZR/ZR+ optical transceivers (optical transceivers). Depending on the needs, customers can combine optical transceivers that comply with open standards and are fully validated, the companies explained.

Collaborations and Technology Advancements
The partners said they will continue collaborating with their technologies and products to meet the demands for high-speed and large-capacity connections between data centers, high-speed and large-capacity back-end networks in data centers, and reduced power consumption.
