HMD Global, the new home of Nokia brand has officially announced that they would be launching the first flagship phone under Nokia, the Nokia 8 on August 16 at an event in London. The company has reportedly sent out media invites for an event on August 16, where the much awaited dual camera Nokia 8 will go official.

The Nokia 8 is said to be the company’s first high-end device to come out since HMD renewed Nokia, a few months ago. Till date, HMD has launched four Nokia branded phones- Nokia 3310, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6. Few rumours claimed that the phone would be officially unveiled on July 31, but that’s not the case now. That said, August 16 is not too far away.
Just a few days ago, and even yesterday, the Nokia 8 was spotted online, which revealed the design of the smartphone. Further, the Nokia 8 was briefly listed on Nokia’s official website where an image showcased the phone in its full glory, giving away the design and a few key specs.
Rumoured to be priced at USD 675 (approximately Rs. 44,000), the Nokia 8 is expected to come with a 5.3-inch Quad-HD display with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top for protection. The Nokia 8 doesn’t feature any edge-to-edge display or 2:1 aspect ratio display, as other flagship phones.
The top and bottom bezels are larger than what we usually see in the recent smartphones, as per the leaked images. A retailer even listed the phone well ahead of the launch hinting that the Nokia 8 might come in Blue, Steel, Gold/blue, and Gold/copper variants.
