HMD Global has silently introduced a new variant of the Nokia 6 smartphone in India with more RAM and double storage. The Nokia 6 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage is listed on e-commerce portal Flipkart for Rs 16,999 and will be up for sale starting February 20. But sadly, HMD did not bring the limited edition Arte Black variant of the Nokia 6 to the country. The new variant takes on the likes of the recently launched Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro. So far, HMD Global is selling Nokia 6 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage on Amazon India and retail stores for Rs 14,999.
Even though the Nokia 6 doesn't match the sheer power of the Redmi Note 5 Pro, it offers better build & design and latest Android 8.0 Oreo software. Also, do make a note that the new 4GB RAM variant of the Nokia 6 will be available only on Flipkart as it's listed as OnlyOnFlipkart product.
The Nokia 6 was introduced in India back in June 2017 with mediocre hardware on board. But HMD received decent feedback from the consumers as they were up to purchase the new Nokia products running Android.
Nokia 6 Specifications and Features
The Nokia 6 sports unimetal body design and is built like a tank. The biggest positive for the Nokia 6 is its design. Frontal, the Nokia 6 has a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and internally, it is powered by the Snapdragon 430 SoC, which is a major disappointment. Now, the phone comes in two RAM options with 3GB/4GB and 32GB/64GB storage.
At the rear side, the phone has a 16MP primary camera, and an 8MP selfie shooter is present on the front. It boots stock Android, and the version is Oreo. This package is backed by a 3000mAh battery. Overall, the Nokia 6 doesn't inspire confidence when it comes to specifications, but HMD is doing what it has been doing since its entry to the Indian market.
Also, it gives us an indication that the upcoming Nokia 6 (2018) or the Nokia 7 Plus smartphones will be priced on the steeper side. Expect the Nokia 6 (2018) to be priced over Rs 20,000 and the Nokia 7 Plus with Snapdragon 660 SoC close to Rs 25,000 price barrier.
