Nokia X7 Powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC Appears on Geekbench

Follow Us

After launching the Nokia X6 and X5 smartphones in China, HMD Global is now prepping for the launch of Nokia X7 on October 16. If history is anything to go by, the Nokia X7 will launch in global markets as Nokia 7.1 Plus, including India, which could be the reason why HMD did not bring the Nokia 7.1 to the Indian market. Ahead of the launch event on October 16, the Nokia X7 aka Nokia 7.1 Plus appears on benchmarking portal Geekbench, which revealed the processor information and RAM. The Nokia X7 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, which will be a perfect choice for the handset as the Nokia 7 Plus is having Snapdragon 660 chipset underneath. The chipset will work in tandem with 6GB of RAM. But we could see the phone launching in a 4GB RAM variant as well.

Nokia X7: Geekbench Listing Details

HMD Global already teased that it will be launching a smartphone with Zeiss powered dual rear cameras in China on October 16. But we don't have any information apart from the teaser image. This Geekbench listing is a proof that the Nokia X7 will be launched on October 16. Going by the listing which appeared on October 10, the Nokia X7 will have the recently announced Snapdragon 710 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM.

As mentioned above, we could see the Nokia X7 in another variant with 4GB of RAM. As for the storage, there might be 64GB/128GB options. The phone achieved a single-core score of 1827 and a multi-core score of 5937. These scores are on-par with Snapdragon 660, in fact, marginally better, but not a substantial increase.

Nokia X7: Rumoured Specifications and Features

Like the Nokia X6 and X5, the Nokia X7 will have a notched display on the front, according to leaked images of the display panel. However, the display isn't confirmed yet, but expect it to be over 6-inches as the Nokia 7 Plus sports a 6-inch display. Underneath, the X7 will have the powerful Snapdragon 710 SoC which we saw on other smartphones such as the Vivo NEX and Xiaomi Mi 8 SE. The phone will come various configurations with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage.

As for the cameras, HMD already confirmed the phone would have dual rear cameras on the rear side. Of course, they'll be certified by Zeiss. The teaser image released by HMD revealed the sensors would be stacked vertically on the centre of the rear side, same as the Nokia 7 Plus. The phone could have 12MP+20MP sensors on the rear side along with a 16MP front-facing camera.

Besides these, we don't have any related information to the Nokia X7. But it could sport a larger battery and will run Android Oreo out of the box.

Nokia X7 Will Launch as Nokia 7.1 Plus Outside China

HMD Global will surely launch the Nokia X7 as Nokia 7.1 Plus in other markets outside China. Since the Nokia X6 and X5 arrived as Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus outside China, rest assured that the X7 will launch as 7.1 Plus. But the real question is: when the phone will make its debut outside China. Well, it might take some time as Qualcomm is yet to reveal the availability of Snapdragon 710 SoC outside of China, so we might see it coming to India early next year.
