Nokia has signed a four-year contract extension with Orange France to upgrade its 5G radio infrastructure using Nokia's AirScale portfolio. The deal aims to enhance customer experience with improved speeds, capacity, and performance across Southeastern and Western France, according to Nokia.

Nokia and Orange France 5G Partnership
As part of the agreement, Nokia will provide its O-RAN-compliant 5G AirScale solutions, including baseband units, Massive MIMO Habrok radios, and multiband remote radio heads from its Pandion portfolio to cover all use cases and deployment scenarios. These solutions, powered by Nokia's ReefShark System-on-Chip technology, will boost network efficiency and coverage.
Trial 5G Cloud RAN Solution
Additionally, Orange France will trial Nokia's 5G Cloud RAN solutions to explore the transition toward a cloud-native network architecture with Cloud RAN technology.
The partnership will also integrate Nokia's AI-powered MantaRay network management solution, optimizing performance across Orange's mobile infrastructure.

The President of Mobile Networks at Nokia said: Our energy-efficient AirScale portfolio and AI-powered MantaRay network management solution will enhance Orange's network performance and deliver premium connectivity experiences to Orange customers.

Sustainability and Future-Ready Connectivity
As part of the partnership, Orange France will trial Nokia's Cloud RAN solutions, and Nokia's AirScale equipment portfolio will support the operator's sustainability ambitions.
