Nokia 8 With Zeiss Dual Cameras, Snapdragon 835 SoC Now Rumoured to Launch in India on September 26

HMD Global’s first Nokia flagship phone, the Nokia 8 was officially launched last month. The company officially confirmed to launch the smartphone in other countries by the end of September. And now, a rumour claims that the smartphone will land in India on September 26.

A report from 91mobiles says that the Nokia 8 will be officially launched in India on September 26 and will be up for sale in the second week of October in both offline and online channels. The report also says that the device will be priced at Rs. 40,000, which will be an excellent pricing from HMD.

All the Nokia smartphones under HMD Global are overpriced, but if the Nokia 8 comes around Rs. 40,000, it will be a great competitor for the OnePlus 5 who is leading the pack in the sub-Rs. 40,000 price point. The Nokia 8 features high-end hardware, and also comes with Zeiss dual camera lens at the back.

The smartphone has a 5.3-inch QHD display with bezels on top and bottom. A fingerprint scanner rests on the home button, same as other Nokia devices under HMD. The device is fuelled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which is expandable with a microSD card.

The Nokia 8 has three 13MP cameras- two at the back and one up front. The twin cameras at the back capture RGB shots and monochrome shots for detailed information. Up front, there’s a 13MP front-facing camera as well. All the three lenses are powered by Zeiss.

It comes laden with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is backed by a 3090mAh battery. Nokia is already testing the Android 8.0 Oreo update on the Nokia 8, and it will be released in coming weeks.

What makes the Nokia 8 special is the Bothie mode. The Nokia 8 comes with a new ‘Bothie’ mode, which is similar to what LG is offering. It uses both the front and rear cameras simultaneously to capture images. However, HMD is taking it to next level by adding live broadcasting to social media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook.

Another highlight in the Nokia 8 is the OZO Audio technology. With this technology, the smartphone will be able to record 360-degree audio and delivers clear and immersive audio than the current generation smartphones.

Being 5.3 incher and 4gb ram Nokia 8 should be priced in the range 28-30k to stay in the race and to regain it’s lost sheen.

Seriously? You’re only nitpicking 2 core features and basing your suggestion entirely on that? Hoping you’re not one of those who always wants things at “dirt-cheap” prices and then are first to complain when something doesn’t stand on their expectations. But regardless, those of the features which distinguish it from OnePlus® 5 can be easily downplayed as “marketing gimmicks,” depending upon where one’s coming from. Disclaimer: I’ve nothing to gain from HMD™ Global. In fact, I don’t consider myself even a “fan[atic]” of anyone or anything, so I don’t feel I “have committed disservice/lost something integral” if I didn’t praised… Read more »
