Nokia 8.1 Launched With 6GB of RAM and 128GB Storage in India for Rs 29,999

HMD Global launched a new variant of the Nokia 8.1 in India today. The new model of the Nokia 8.1 comes packed with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. To recollect, HMD Global launched the Nokia 8.1 in just one variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage in December last year. The 6GB RAM model with 128GB storage variant of the Nokia 8.1 will go on sale in India next week. The new Nokia 8.1 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model has been launched in India for Rs 29,999. The 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant of the Nokia phone currently retails for Rs 26,999 in India. The new Nokia 8.1 model will up available for grabs in India February 6 on Amazon India and Nokia online store website. The Nokia phone will be available in offline retail outlets. HMD Global has launched the Nokia 8.1 in two colours -- Blue/ Silver and Iron/ Steel which is same as the older version of the phone.




New Variant of Nokia 8.1 Will Be Available for Pre-Booking Starting February 1

The Nokia 8.1 6GB RAM model will be available for pre-bookings starting February 1 via the Nokia site and Amazon India online store. The new Nokia 8.1 comes bundled with several launch offers like up to 1TB of Airtel 4G data on the prepaid pack of Rs 199. In addition, the Airtel postpaid customers will also get additional 120GB data alongwith three months of Netflix and one year of Amazon Prime subscriptions. Additionally, if you buy the Nokia phone from Amazon India between February 6 and February 17, the buyers will be able to get an additional exchange discount of Rs 2,500. However, if you get the new Nokia 8.1 between February 18 and February 28, you’ll get an additional exchange discount of Rs 1,500.

Furthermore, the Nokia 8.1 buyers having HDFC Bank credit and debit card and using EMI transactions will be eligible for a 10% cashback from February 6 to February 17 while between February 18 to February 28 they will get 5% cashback. On purchasing the phone via the Nokia site, you can get a gift card of Rs 3,000.

Nokia 8.1: Specifications and Features

The Nokia 8.1 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model comes with the same specs as the base model the only difference is in the RAM and storage. The base model comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, while now the new model comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The price also differs. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option is available for Rs 26,999 while the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage will sell for Rs 29,999.

The Nokia 8.1 comes with a 6.18-inch Full HD+display with a screen resolution of 1080x2244 pixels and aspect ratio 18:7:9 and screen to body ratio of 81.5%. On the hardware front, the Nokia 8.1 has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC clocked up to 2.2GHz paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. On the software front, the Nokia 8.1 runs Android 9 Pie out of the box.

On the camera front, the Nokia 8.1 will come with dual rear cameras with Zeiss optics while on the front the phone includes a single camera. The rear panel includes a primary sensor of 12MP and a secondary camera of 13MP. On the front, the phone includes a 20MP camera for selfies. The Nokia 8.1 6GB+128GB is backed by a 3500mAh battery that is promised to offer 22 hours of talk time, 24 days of standby time, and up to 11 hours of video playback on a single charge.
