Nokia 3.1 Plus First Sale Details

The Nokia 3.1 Plus comes in three colour options- Blue, White and Baltic. The phone can be purchased at the best buy price of Rs 11,499 across top mobile retail stores in India and on Nokia.com/phones. During the launch event, HMD said the Nokia 3.1 Plus would be available in two variants- 2GB+16GB and 3GB+32GB, but it revealed the price of only the top-end variant. Maybe, the base variant will start shipping at a later date in the country.

Furthermore, HMD has tied up with telecom operator Bharti Airtel to offer 1TB of free 4G data on the recharge of Rs 199.

Nokia 3.1 Plus: Specifications and Features

Being an offline-only model, the Nokia 3.1 Plus ships with specifications which doesn't inspire confidence. However, HMD did its best to pack decent hardware. The phone sports a large 6-inch HD+ display with a 2.5D curved glass on top and 18:9 aspect ratio. It comes powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset, clubbed with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of onboard storage. For storage hoggers, there's a microSD card slot which will accept SD cards up to 400GB in memory.

There are not many Android One smartphones in the offline market and the Nokia 3.1 Plus scores on this aspect. The phone boots Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and it will receive Android P update sometime early next year or by the end of this year. Optics wise, the 3.1 Plus has dual cameras on the rear side- a 13MP primary camera works in tandem with a 5MP secondary camera. Frontal, HMD has added an 8MP selfie shooter.

Connectivity options on the Nokia 3.1 Plus include Dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and a Micro USB port. The phone comes armed with a 3500mAh battery and there's no support for fast charging as well. The fingerprint scanner on the Nokia 3.1 Plus is placed on the rear side and other sensors include ambient light, proximity sensor, accelerometer, e-compass and gyroscope.

Nokia 3.1 Plus: Competitors in India

Moving onto the competitors of Nokia 3.1 Plus, we have the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro which is available at Rs 12,499 shipping with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The Redmi 6 Pro sports a Full HD+ display, much better cameras and also has a 4000mAh battery. But it loses out of the software front as it runs MIUI 9.6 out of the box. We also have other devices such as the Vivo Y81 and Tecno Camon i2X sporting the same Helio P22 chipset.
