New OxygenOS Update for OnePlus 6, 6T Starts Rolling Out With June Security Patch and Screen Recorder

The penultimate devices from OnePlus, the OnePlus 6T and the OnePlus 6 are starting to receive a new update which brings the June 2019 Android Security Patch onboard these devices. Along with the security patch, the update also brings the latest screen recording feature to these devices as well. While the OnePlus 6 has started receiving the OxygenOS 9.0.7, the OnPlus 6T has started receiving the OxygenOS 9.0.15 update. OnePlus has also noted that just like its other updates this one is also an incremental one and it is being rolled out to the devices in stages. The update will be released to a few users today, and slowly, it will be extended to a broader set of users.




Oxygen OS 9.0.7 and OxygenOS 9.0.15 Details

Courtesy of the new Oxygen OS 9.0.7 and OxygenOS 9.0.15 update, both OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T will be receiving the June 2019 Android Security Patch. As per the changelog of the update which was posted on official OnePlus forum, the new update brings the native screen recorder feature which was first spotted on the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro. This feature has become popular as of late and has been one of the most requested one. The native screen recorder allows the phone users to record the content on the screen along with the audio. There are also many customisations available with the screen recorder like the selection of frame rate and more. After OnePlus confirmed the arrival of this update for the two devices, it also revealed that the update would accompany the Android Security Patch for June 2019.

Improvements and Features for OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T Users

In case you are OnePlus 6 or OnePlus 6T user, and you would like to check out the screen recorder feature then go to Quick Settings and navigate to Screen Recorder. As per OnePlus the update also brings improved screen rotation and better support for VoLTE for Denmark operator Telia. OnePlus has also noted “As always, this OTA will be incremental. The OTA will reach a small percentage of users today, and we'll begin a broader rollout in a few days.” Not only OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T but also the OxygenOS 9.0.4 update brought the June 2019 Android Security Patch for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T as well.

OnePlus has also said that OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T users should update their phone under good Wi-Fi and keep their phone enough charged. Also, in case you have not been notified of the update then you will be getting the notification about it in a few days as it is an incremental one which is being rolled out to the users in phases. You can also go to Setting and navigate to System Updates to manually check for the latest OxygenOS version.
