MTS Revises MBlaze Plans, MBrowse Unlimited now at Rs 298There is some revision in data offerings (on 1X and MBlaze) from MTS India. The revision comes to its MBlaze offerings in the form of price hike by cutting down bundled usage.

While MBrowse 1X offerings comes with unlimited prepaid plans at as low as Rs 298 per month. That is kind of bad news from MTS as usage of wireless broadband network is rapidly increasing and so the data consumption per user. MTS MBlaze supports upto 3.1Mbps downlink upto 1.8 Mbps. While MBrowse offers upto 153.6Kbps on the move.

Also it is not a good move if you can see the 4G roll out is coming within 3 months from now.

Revised plan details are discussed below

Weekend Prepaid Plan:

Rs 2956GB during weekends (starting from 00 hrs Saturday to 00 hrs Monday) falling within 30 days.Re1/MBEarlier MBlazer 295 comes with 10GB week end data to be consumed in weekends (Friday 11pm to Monday 7am) falling in 30 days, post 10GB data was to be charged at 50p/MB within validity period.

MBlaze has a night plan of 10GB data for 30 days at Rs 595. As MBlaze users are mostly prepaid they use the Weekend plan for same data usage at low cost, MTS likes to pull the trigger to push the night plan more.

MTS earlier revised unlimited Mblazer pack once, now they further cut the bundle usage to 10GB with Unlimited MBlazer 999 pack.

In terms of speed, 1X is similar to GPRS. And people are not buying it in spite of low entry point – MTS MBrowse device comes at just Rs 699. New unlimited MBrowse plans comes with free national roaming too, making the cheapest 1X offerings, note that BSNL offers unlimited 1X data on home & roam at Rs 350 and home only at Rs 250. My take is even with tariff reduction many will not buy MBrowse or other 1X data cards. But MTS can offer MBrowse plans to be recharged on mobile or MBlaze connections.

** Pack values can vary from circle to circle, and new revised plans are available in selected circles.
