MTS Opens 10 New Stores in Maharastra, Rebrands as MITRA Stores

India’s pure-play CDMA mobile and data service provider Sistema Shyam Teleservices, which operates under MTS India brand, has extended its retail network in Maharastra, as it opens 10 more stores in Airoli (Dighe), Vashi, Kurla, Govandi, Byculla, Mahim, Wadala, Mumbra, Bhandup and Santacruz, to provide one-stop solutions to its subscribers.

MTS rebrands its stores as MITRA, which means friend. Also MITRA stands for M = Mobile services, I = Internet support, T = Telecom solutions, R = Recharges/payments, A = Accesories. This initiative is a significant part of Company’s strategy to engage and connect its customers across India.At present MTS has more than 1,500 MITRA stores across India.

Ashoo Sethi, Chief Operating Officer, Mumbai Circle, MTS India, said “I am delighted to announce the launch of 10 new MITRA retail stores across Mumbai. This launch is in sync with our strategy to “Think Global Act Local”. Targeting semi urban and rural locations; MITRA stores are designed to provide all MTS Voice and Data solutions to our customers backed by unmatched tariffs. Mumbai continues to be an important market for MTS and MITRA stores will further strengthen our presence in the region by taking our services closer to our customers”.

come on mts.. please wait for auction to end,, fire off the 3g carriers in data.. u have capacity to launch 10 gb for 100 rs. at 3.1 mbps… u can kill the data market.. please launch dual mode/sim phones… we like to keep gsm and cdma together… one for personal one for official.. we want good battery support.. now love your karbonn phones with 1800mah battery.. we wish to increase the battery to 3100 mah….please we want best battery back up.. nokia is strong among batteries..

Mts Mblaze plans are in no way cost effective, and why would one invest in network locked data cards when one can easily use 3G sim cards in unlocked dongles and get double the speeds at 70% lesser tariffs than mts is offering?

you are very much correct that cDMA locked data card’s data being expensive. In Idea 3G-GSM:1 hour rs 46 pack(AP) -I download 2.5GB ! In Airtel 3G rs 9-30 mins pack ……I manage 750mb to 1 Gb. (via IDM using 21 mbps modem capable android phonephone tethered to lap top.) Just now I recharged Rs 9 for three of my sims. downloading @700-1000 kBps (7-8 mbps) is a pure delight. so say 2.8 to 3 Gb at the cost of Rs 27 daily or every alternative day. Please tell me for how many time i put my MTS dongle in a side.As now there is no use of it but i didn’t want to loose that no.?????
