While Internet usage in the country is booming, only 3 per cent of the country’s population has access to internet at home, according to the survey done by Gallup in 2011. This presents a huge opportunity for telecom operators to target the untapped home segment; especially in the tier 2 and tier 3 cities, where smartphones are gaining popularity. MTS India is all set to target this market opportunity with the launch of Homespot Instant Wi-Fi.

According to Leonid Musatov, Chief Marketing & Brand Officer – MTS India, “MTS is traditionally known as a data dongle provider in the Indian market. The plan is to now shift focus and be recognised as a world-class Wi-Fi solutions provider. With the Homespot Instant Wi-Fi solution, we have a fantastic product to address the internet needs of multiple users including Smartphone customers at home with a single, easy to use device”. Leonid further added, “The launch of Homespot Instant WiFi solution is being supported by integrated communication campaign featuring a TVC that will see the return of MTS Internet Baby in an all new avatar. The launch of this campaign will coincide with the upcoming cricket world cup”
