Motorola is rolling out Marshmallow update to Moto X Style and Moto X (2nd Gen)

As expected from Motorola, the company has yet again stayed true to its promise of rolling out the latest Android updates. It has initiated the roll out of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its two smartphones - Moto X Style and Moto X (Gen 2).

Android 6.0 MarshmallowMotorola’s Senior Director, Software Product Management, David Schuster revealed that Moto X Style users in Brazil and India will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in a phase-wise manner. Moto X (Gen 2) users in Brazil will also receive the update.




Schuster wrote in a Google+ post,"Full deployment will proceed in stages over the next few weeks. It is not yet available for the pull, you will receive a notification on your phone when you are able to update your phone,” He further revealed that the company has already kickstarted the Marshmallow update approval process for Moto X Pure Edition, and its roll out might start in coming few weeks.

As per Motorola’s changelog for Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a new Memory Manager will debut with the update, which will allow users to check memory space used by installed applications.

Other features and enhancements to come along with the update are - better volume controls and text selection, quick settings panel will also have the "Do not disturb" option, System UI Tuner shortcut has been added to the settings menu, App Standby feature that saves battery by putting rarely used apps in a decreased activity mode, RAM manager that shows how much memory is used by individual apps in given period, automatic app backup. Moreover, Motorola will be retiring few device specific features with the new update.
