Micromax is rumored to launch a slew of smartphones by the end of this month, and the first one on the list is the Micromax Spark Vdeo. The homegrown brand has silently launched the phone in India at Rs. 4499 and comes with entry-level specifications.

The Micromax Spark Vdeo flaunts a 4.5-inch FWVGA display with a resolution of 854x480 pixels. An unspecified quad-core chipset powers the phone with the clock speed of 1.1GHz. The phone also has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The storage can be further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.

In terms of camera, the Spark Vdeo comes with a 5MP rear-facing snapper, along with a 2MP front-facing snapper. The rear camera lacks autofocus but has support for LED flash. The phone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and is backed with an 1800mAh battery that is rated to deliver 150 hours standby time.

Commenting on the announcement, Shubhajit Sen, CMO, Micromax said as follows, “The consumer response to both Spark and Vdeo series has been phenomenal. With Spark Vdeo, we are bringing a perfect amalgamation of our most popular smartphones and wish to present further a compelling device that will win consumer confidence. We developed Spark Vdeo as an all-in-one phone for easy access to connect with your closed one via a video call. The device will further help us build the consumer use case which goes to show that video will take over text in the coming times.” “Through our exclusive partnership with Snapdeal for the Spark series, we have very successfully expanded the overall entry-level smartphone market and created a favourable impact in the e-commerce channel with Spark series selling more than 2 million units since its launch.”

The Spark Vdeo comes with various connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, and micro USB port. The phone also comes with support for VoLTE, which means that you can use a Reliance Jio 4G SIM card with the phone. Micromax has partnered with Indian e-commerce site Snapdeal for selling the Spark Vdeo. The phone will be available to purchase from March 24.
