Windows 10-powered Microsoft Lumia 650 Dual SIM goes official in India at Rs. 15,299

A few months ago, Microsoft launched its enterprise-focused smartphone, the Lumia 650 and Lumia 650 dual-SIM in select markets. Now, in the latest development, the dual-SIM variant of the Lumia 650 has been officially launched in India at Rs. 15,299. Interestingly, the same device was earlier listed on an Indian retail website through a third-party seller. Thankfully, it is now up for sale via an official channel.

Commenting on the launch, Ajay Mehta, Country General Manager, Microsoft India, said,”We crafted the Lumia 650 with the finest detail while delivering a consistent and familiar Windows 10 experience. Lumia 650 brings the best of Microsoft productivity, beautiful design, and an affordable price. The device is perfect for enterprises and Windows fans alike,”

Moving on to the specifications, the Microsoft Lumia 650 comes with a 5-inch HD AMOLED ClearBlack display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 212 processor clubbed with 1GB of RAM. There is 16GB internal storage onboard, which can be further expanded up to whopping 200GB via microSD card. In the imaging department, the device sports an 8-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, and 720p video recording, along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, which is also equipped with f/2.2 aperture, and 720p video recording capabilities.

On the software front, the device runs Windows 10 out of the box. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, and GPS / aGPS. Backing the Microsoft Lumia 650, is a 2,000mAh removable battery. The device measures 142x 70.9 x 6.9 mm and weighs 122 grams. It will be available in Matte Black and Matte White color options.

Since both hardware and software in lumia are integrated by MSFT, it undoubtedly will give best performance even if it have such low end CPU.. And it’s Lumia(carrying Nokia’s legacy) so there’s no doubt about hardware quality, it will be 100 times better than any other Chinese phone in same range…
This device could have been cheaper, around 13000 if MSFT had their own manufacturing unit in India.. That additional 2000 is cost of shipping, custom duty tax etc…
Anyway, Microsoft did better at pricing lumia 650 than apple did for iPhone 5SE.. LOL!!

I have a previous model 640 XL, after Windows 10 update, it is very smooth, battery life has always been excellent. Camera and photo editing apps are too good.

650 must be equally good.

Having used many Androids earlier, I moved to Windows for my personal use. I am happy about my move.
