As we had reported in December 2014 Reliance Jio had been allotted signalling point codes (SPC) for offering National long distance (NLD) and International long distance (ILD) calling services.
These codes have been allotted to Jio by BSNL in the four metro cities namely Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata. All the 22 telecom circles are divided into four zones with the north zone circles coming under the SPC of Delhi, west zone circles with SPC under Mumbai, south zone circles with SPC under Bangalore and east zone circles with SPC under Kolkata.
The above list shows the signalling point codes for National and International long distance services along with basic services and signal transfer points (STP). These codes are valid for 6 months from the time they were allotted in December, which implies that Jio will have to roll out commercial services Pan India by June 2015. Jio has already started rolling out WiFi hotspot services under the Government’s plan of establishing 100 smart cities in India with Kolkata being the first.
