Lenovo Announces Ideapad 530S and 330S Laptops in India, Prices Start at Rs 35,990

During an event held in New Delhi on Wednesday, Lenovo announced new additions to its Ideapad series. The company announced that it would be launching two new laptops which would "meet the expectations of today's smartphone power-users." The said models which would debut in the market soon are the Ideapad 330S and the Ideapad 530S. Lenovo has also made it clear that the ‘S’ in the model name stands for ‘slim’ pointing towards the direction that these new laptops will offer compact and slim form factor along with good battery life. The highlighting aspect of the new Ideapads will be the ultra-slim design.

Speaking of availability and pricing, the company has put out the word that the Ideapad 530S will start retailing at the price of Rs 67,990 and the Ideapad 330S will start retailing at the price of Rs 35,990. The laptops will be up for sale on Lenovo Exclusive stores along with in multi-brand stores such as Croma, Reliance Digital, and Ezone. At the same event, Lenovo also showcased the IdeaCentre all-in-one (AIO) 730S which will be priced at Rs. 77,250.

Between both the new debuts, the Ideapad 530S fares as the premium laptop in the ultra slim series by Lenovo. The laptop comes with an 8th generation Intel Core i5-8250U processor which clocks a frequency of 3.40GHz, paired with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB M.2 PCI SSD storage. The machine runs Windows 10 Home out of the box. The screen is a 14-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS display with anti-glare.

The company has claimed that the laptop will be able support a battery life of about 8 hours. There is also going to be the Rapid charge feature that will provide the users with two hours of usage with 15 minutes of charge. The ultra slim laptop also sports a fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi 2x2 AC, Bluetooth 4.1, USB Type-C and USB 3.0 ports, 4-in1 card reader.

For gaming enthusiasts who need graphics, they can also go as far as to opt for the dedicated 2GB Nvidia MX 150. The Ideapad 530S measures 32.3x22.6x1.64cm and weighs a measly 1.49kg. The thing that might be a bit disappointing for the buyers is the fact that despite putting emphasis on design, there is only a Copper colour variant. The laptop comes with one year onsite and one-year international warranty. Buyers will also be eligible for one-year free McAfee Live Safe support. The laptop features Harman speakers with Dolby audio.

The less pricy of the two laptops, the Ideapad 330S is powered by the 8th generation Intel Core i7-8550U processor which clocks a frequency of 4.00GHz. The RAM on the laptop is 8GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB 7MM 5400RPM HDD. The screen is a 15.6 Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS display. On the software front, the laptop boots Windows 10 Home out of the box. There is also a 14-inch display model if someone wants to go compact for this device. The laptop will also please gamers as it comes with 4GB dedicated graphics.

As for connectivity, the Ideapad 330S supports Wi-Fi 1x1 AC, Bluetooth 4.1, USB Type-C, USB 3.0, and 4-in-1 card reader. It comes with Dolby Audio as well. The laptop measures to be 24.4x35.8x1.94cm and weighs 1.87 kgs. There is a metallic finish on the top cover, which, as per the company’s claims is 24% lighter compared to the traditional clamshells at the same price.

The Lenovo Ideapad 330S owing to its heavy-duty processor and performance promises a battery life of 7 hours, and this one also features the Rapid charge feature that provides 2 hours of usage with 15 minutes of charge. Although, there is no international warranty the laptop comes with one year onsite. Users will also get the benefit of 1-year free McAfee Live Safe support. The laptop only comes in Platinum Grey colour model.

One thing which the interested buyers should note is that Ideapad series of laptop is available under the Back To College offer under which buyers can avail two years of additional warranty, one year of PremiumCare, one year of Accidental Damage Protection. There are also gift vouchers with the purchase, all at attractive prices.

Lastly, another release by Lenovo in the event, which is the IdeaCentre AIO 730S also comes powered by 8th generation Intel Core i7-8550U processor, clocking a speed of 4.00GHz. The laptop accompanies impressive 16GB DDR4 RAM and 2TB (2.5-inch) 5400 RPM HDD or 128GB M.2 SSD. Additionally, there is an external USB DVD RAMBO optical drive as well. The screen on this laptop is a massive 23.8-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display with anti-glare. Similar to the other models, this one also runs Windows 10 Home out of the box. For graphics, the AIO like the Ideapad 530S supports up to 2GB of dedicated graphics, which might be luring for the gamers.
