Finally, we have a reliable leak about the Nokia 7 Plus smartphone which is slated to unveil at the MWC 2018 event. Few presentation slides of the Nokia 7 Plus now surfaced on the Chinese Baidu, which revealed key specifications of the smartphone. As per the earlier Geekbench leak, this leak also says that the Nokia 7 Plus will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The leak also says that it would be the company's first smartphone to come with an 18:9 display.
As per the leaked presentation slide, the Nokia 7 Plus will have a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. And the panel will be a Full HD+ one with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Another upgrade would be the Snapdragon 660 SoC, which is a major upgrade from the Snapdragon 630 chipset used on the regular Nokia 7. The chipset will be mated to Adreno 512 GPU. Also, the smartphone supports fast charging, but the battery capacity is unknown at the moment.
If you recall, the Nokia 7 was the company's first smartphone with glass body, but as per the presentation leak, the Nokia 7 Plus will come with metal body along with ceramic coating at the edges on the rear.
Another major upgrade over the Nokia 7 in the upcoming Nokia 7 Plus is the dual rear camera system. Yes, as per this leak, the Nokia 7 Plus will come with two cameras at the back of 12MP and 13MP sensors. The secondary sensor will be a telephoto lens and will offer Portrait mode as well. At the front of the phone, there will be a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. The leak also mentions other camera features such as Bothie, which uses both rear and front cameras at once.
Another feature is that the Nokia 7 Plus will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, but it will soon receive Android 8.1 Oreo update.
HMD Global has already set the launch event for February 25, where the Finnish company will be releasing other smartphones such as the Nokia 1, Nokia 4, Nokia 9 and a 2018 version of the Nokia 8 alongside the Nokia 7 Plus.
