At the CES 2020, SPPL announced the launch of Kodak HD LED TVs Official Android TVs. It is worth noting that CES 2020 happened at the Las Vegas convention centre in California. In the past, we have seen other TV launches from Kodak as well, but the launch of the Android TV from Kodak is going to be a big one, and the manufacturer seems to be betting big on this debut. It has also been noted by the brand that this would be the flagship product from the brand and after the announcement of this launch at CES, Kodak would be mass manufacturing the TVs and will be launching it in India in the month of February 2020. Kodak Betting High on Smart TV Market in India

To recall, back in 2019, Kodak has launched KODAK 32FHDXPRO, KODAK 40 FHDXPRO, KODAK 43FHDXPRO and KODAK 50FHDXPRO TVs in India. The KXPRO series from Kodak has been its flagship TV series until now in India. During its KXPRO TV line-up launch in September 2019, SPPL had remarked that the TV industry would grow at the rate of 30.2% CAGR till 2024. Further, the high penetration of internet, flourishing e-commerce in India and the increasing purchasing power in tier I and tier II cities of India are some of the reasons why Smart TV sales are booming in India.

SPPL Manufacturing in India

Back in 2019, SPPL had also informed about a production line in Noida which it had opened up that time. SPPL CEO, Avneet Singh Marwah had remarked about this, “We have come up with these 4K models, and recently we have started a new production line at our Noida facility with a production capacity of 3000 units in a day, and we will be offering 2-3 variants in every quarter”.

One of the most notable models launched by Kodak in its TV line-up was the KODAK 43KXPRO TV which had debuted with a display resolution of 3840 x 2160. On the software front, the TV was running Android Open Source 7.1.2. The TV also came with an Audio Output of 24W, and it was also equipped with Digital Surround sound, Total Volume, Total Surround, Dynamic sound surround and Feather sound.

Kodak KXPRO TV Specifications

Under the panel, the KXPRO TV had Quad-Core A53 CPU with Mali – 450MP multi-core. Another cherry on top for the users of the TV was the presence of OTT applications like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, Zee5, Voot, YUPP TV, Sony LIV and Eros Now. Kodak had debuted the TV in more sizes as well which included the 50-inch, KODAK 50 4KXPRO TV and the 55-inch KODAK 55 4KXPRO TV. The advantage of the 43-inch TV is the support for Cast and AirPlay, whereas the bigger model of the Kodak TVs do not support AirPlay. Now, the new Android TV line-up from Kodak is expected to be a major jump from the previous KXPRO TV line-up from Kodak. These TVs, as we mentioned above, would be launched next month.
