This eleven-day long festival will see thousands of devotees coming to for darshan of three famous Ganpati pandals where they will be able to experience and reap the benefits of high-speed wireless connectivity on handheld devices (smartphones/tablets) through this Wi-Fi network from Reliance Jio.

Commenting on this initiative, a Reliance Jio Spokesperson said, “Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with much pomp and splendour all across Maharashtra and especially in Mumbai. It is a festival that brings people together as they worship Lord Ganesh and enjoy a week long festivities. This year, we are privileged to join the festivities by offering ‘Jionet’ high speed Wi-Fi internet service at Lalbaug Cha Raja, Andheri Cha Raja & Sahyadri Cha Raja (Tilak Nagar, Chembur) as we want visiting devotees to sample the digital ecosystem we are building consisting of high speed data networks, specially designed apps and rich content to understand how it can enrich their lives.

Users’ feedback on the overall experience and the network will be used to improve the services further as Jio gets ready for its formal launch. Additionally, visitors can also download Jio Chat, and share their photos as well as selfies clicked at the pandal with their loved ones. Once 4G LTE service commences, Wi-Fi and LTE networks will operate seamlessly with each other.

Such Tower sharing agreements with RJio are more welcomed as it would pave way for BSNL’S revenue but it should be in a way that Bsnl GSM Services remain unaffected & I hope so RJio dedicates itself to provide services like wise BSNL and not always money money minded likewise FraudTel!

If Reliance Jio can provide a good signal strength of 4G in March 2016, then I don’t mind if they take all bsnl towers.
