Almost every smartphone company looks for another company that can assemble the components to make a complete device. In the same way, Reliance Jio might soon place an order with UTL Neolync for 5 million units of the JioPhone Next. The price of the JioPhone Next might be Rs 3,500. The development comes from an ET Telecom report, but the order is not final yet. According to the publication, Reliance Jio is only “aiming” to place an order of 5 million units of the JioPhone Next with UTL Neolync.

Reliance Jio Wants to Bring Entire Order to Market In Six Months

Going by ET Telecom’s report, Reliance Jio wants to bring the entire order of the JioPhone Next (5 million units) in the market for the customers. But the company is also aware of the ongoing chipset shortage that’s pushing smartphone manufacturers to scale production down, resulting in increased costs.

For the unaware, the JioPhone Next will arrive in the market on September 10, 2021. It is worth noting that Reliance Industries Limited (RIL’s) wholly-owned unit, Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Ltd, had invested Rs 20 crore in Neolync Solutions earlier this month. UTL Neolync is a joint venture between Neolync Solutions and UTL Group.

The JioPhone Next has been referred to as the most affordable 4G smartphone in the world. The actual price of the product would only become clear once the company launches it on September 10, 2021.

This will be Reliance Jio’s bet on garnering the interest of 2G subscribers in India. The JioPhone was a good offer. But it didn’t interest the people who wanted an affordable 4G smartphone and not a feature phone. Thus, the barrier of entry to 4G networks with a smartphone still persisted. But now, Reliance Jio is here to alleviate that pain for the Indian users by offering the very affordable JioPhone Next.
