Reliance Jio, India's largest telecom operator, has made major changes to the validity of its most affordable data vouchers of Rs 19 and Rs 29. These are the data vouchers that most Reliance Jio customers rely on for their short-term data needs. The Rs 19 voucher used to cost Rs 15 until a few months back, while the Rs 29 voucher used to come for Rs 25. The tariff hike which was implemented earlier this year raised the price of these vouchers, and that will help Jio in boosting the average revenue per user (ARPU) figure.
Let's take a look at the recent change that Jio has made to these vouchers.

Reliance Jio Rs 19 and Rs 29 Data Vouchers Validity Changed
Reliance Jio has changed the validity of Rs 19 and Rs 29 data vouchers. The Rs 19 voucher used to have the same validity as the user's base active plan. For example, if the user's base plan had a remaining validity of 70 days, then this Rs 19 data voucher would also work for 70 days or till the time the data was completely used. Now that has been changed to 1 day.
So the new validity of the Rs 19 data voucher is 1 day.

The same has happened with the Rs 29 data voucher, which used to carry the same validity as the user's base active plan. Reliance Jio's Rs 29 data voucher now comes with a service validity of 2 days.
The recent changes by Jio in the validity of these plans reflect the telco's efforts in earning more out of its customers. While the customers are effectively paying the same price and getting the same amount of data, the reduction in validity means that they would need to recharge again whenever they need more data, even if they don't consume the data from the vouchers completely the first time around.
