Jio launches Lyf Wind 5 smartphone with 5-inch display, 8MP camera at Rs. 6599

Jio has announced another addition to their Lyf Smartphone series -- Wind 5. Priced with a budget-friendly tag of Rs. 6,599, Wind 5 comes with a 5-inch HD IPS screen of resolution 1280×720. The device is powered by 64-bit Quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

A highlight of Wind 5 would be its capability to connect the smartphone to a pen drive using the USB On-the-go (OTG) support. The feature enables users to enjoy easy access and transfer of media between the phone and external storage.

In terms of camera, Reliance Lyf Wind 5 sports an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing model. There are several features that augment the camera experience such as an HDR mode, panorama mode, time-lapse mode and even support for continuous shooting (up to 99 frames) integrated in the smartphone.

A 2000mAh battery completes the package. According to the company, the battery will allow the users to enjoy 20 hours of music playback when fully charged. A 2-year warranty is provided for the device and the company promises good customer service with more than 1000 service centers.

Just a few days ago, Jio unveiled the Lyf Flame 6 for Rs 3,999. The Flame 6 offered a 4-inch display at 800×480p and a 1.5GHz CPU with 512BM of RAM. The internal storage was 4GB. The device supports a microSD card (up to 32GB), a 2MP front and 2MP rear camera along with dual-SIM support. Lyf Wind 5 will be available across all markets and channels.
