  • The GigaFiber service provides up to 100 Mbps connection with access to 100GB data per month
  • The Jio Home TV service will offer up to 600 channels through IPTV

Everyone in the tech and telecom industry is looking forward to the commercial launch of Reliance Jio GigaFiber. The service which was announced by the Mukesh Ambani led telecom operator in its last AGM in 2018, has gained popularity in the country thanks to its beta testing and the registration process. The Reliance Jio GigaFiber is also currently one of the fastest broadband connection one can get out there. However, it still remains under the beta testing period and hence under the preview offer. Now, ever since the announcement of the service, till today there is a lot that we have come to know about Reliance Jio GigaFiber and here is every bit of information that we know about Reliance Jio’s FTTH service.

Reliance Jio GigaFiber Commercial Launch in Sight

The Jio Home TV service will offer up to 600 channels through IPTV Firstly, as the name indicates, Reliance Jio GigaFiber will bring fibre-to-the-home connections to the customers of the service providing speeds up to 100 Mbps on their broadband connection. As of now, the service remains under the banner of beta testing, and it has been rolled out in select major cities only. Even under the Preview Offer of Reliance Jio GigaFiber, the subscribers will have to pay Rs 4,500 as safety deposit for the router after which they get one connection. The Reliance Jio GigaFiber connection is currently available without any monthly rental, and it is shipping 100GB data to the customers per month. In case, the subscribers need to access more data, and then Reliance Jio is offering it via data coupons.

Reliance Jio GigaFiber Preview Offer in Major Cities

There is also another option for the users of Reliance Jio GigaFiber Preview offer which the Mukesh Ambani led telco revealed later on. A few months back, Reliance Jio brought a new subscription option for the subscribers, wherein they did not have to pay the hefty amount of Rs 4,500 to get a new subscription. This new subscription plan for beta testing of GigaFiber is available to the select subscribers for Rs 2,500. Although the price of this subscription plan is less, there is also a catch, and that is, the subscribers will get speeds of 50 Mbps. Also, the router which the subscribers will get as part of this plan will be a single band router of 2.4 GHz instead of a double band router.

Reliance Jio GigaFiber Triple Play Plan, Jio Home TV and More

Lastly, another major debut from Reliance Jio when it comes to GigaFiber is the introduction of the Triple Play plan. Initially, the telco was seen testing the Triple Play feature with the employees of the company. But some more leaks about this plan have revealed that the Triple Play Plan will bundle broadband, DTH and landline, all three services in this plan. The DTH service bundled with GigaFiber will be called Jio Home TV, and it will come in the form of IPTV with up to 600 channels. Although not confirmed, the Triple Play plan from Reliance Jio is likely to be priced at Rs 600 per month.

Now, on August 12, Reliance Industries, the parent company of Reliance Jio is going to hold its 42nd Annual General Meeting 2019. In this event, the telecom operator is expected to announce the commercial launch of Reliance Jio GigaFiber.

nowdays even local cable provider are providing unlimited 50-100mbps at 500 INR in delhi (delhi/dehradun) i don’t see why jio will be chosen over them. as jio customer support sucks a big time(jio 4g sim experience, a;; they is they are working on it). where as the local service provider just fix the issue just after a call,, and yeah those channels they are bragging about you can get all worldwide channels over IPTV services subscribtions just 10usd per month(google providers or reddit)

Yes 50 mbps at rs 500 here in ghaziabad

The reason why I am interested with jio jigafibre is because they will provide IPTV service as well along with internet. Else local providers in my city too provide truly unlimited 60 mbps speed at just 590 rupees(including tax). But if Jio provides fup then I will not go with Jio. I use their 4G service and its quite good. I am happy with their speeds.

I have Jio preview connection(50mbps) and a local connection (100mbps) with unlimited data. When Jio installed the router, they damaged the other cable. I had to get it replaced. On Jio I am getting around 30-35 mbps near the router. With a wired connection above 80. But in other rooms of my flat it is around 6 to 7 mbps and at times drops to 1mbps. I have used the connection to view firestick, which is ok as TV is near to the router. Never tried calling feature. On the other hand my local connection with an iball mesh router… Read more »

No one can predict how hard Jio will attack. So don’t go by rumours. Jio will hit hard with cheapest fiber plan. History will be repeated.

Jio GigaFiber will follow this strategy.
Rs499 FUP 100GB @1Gbps + Unlimited 100Mbps + Free TV
Rs999 FUP 1TB @1Gbps + Unlimited 100Mbps + Free TV
Rs1449 FUP 3TB @1Gbps + Unlimited 100Mbps + Free TV

Jio will be going triple play. Voice, broadband and TV. They’ll bundle it in one plan. Not like 100 different plans which will confuse everyone. Don’t expect minimum 100Mbps. Not gonna happen.

In kolkata 70 Mbps down 40 Up ftth wishnet broadband..
