According to the popular tipster Evan Blass, Apple will make the retail launch of iPhone 7 in the “week of September 12” and the main launch event on “September 16”. The September 16 is a fair guess since Apple traditionally keeps its major hardware releases on Fridays.
India usually gets the device a month later and the pattern is expected to be followed this time as well. Several leaks already surfaced online about various aspects of iPhone 7. One major leak was about the variants of the smartphone. Evan Blass suggested through a tweet that iPhone 7 will launch in two models, codenamed 'Sonora' and 'Dos Palos'. In that case, iPhone 7 “Pro” version may not launch.
There were also reports stating Apple will ditch the 16GB version and instead go for a new base variant of 32GB. A supply chain report by TrendForce also revealed the possibility of a 256GB storage option. Overall, it is largely expected that Apple will reveal two/three new iPhones.
Contradicting the above said leak, a few images released a week earlier on Weibo.com showed iPhone Pro models, with smart connector and dual-camera. The images also had the rear side of iPhones with a label “iPhone S”. Another controversial news about iPhone is the removal of 3.5mm audio jack. Apple is expected to integrate a wireless Bluetooth headphones or Lightning headphones. The feasibility of this change in iPhone is unclear.
Other specifications to count would be the new iOS 10 and the new A10 processor. The antenna bands are seen to be shifted to the edges in a leaked design sketch. A new color variant – Space Black – is also expected.
